Take this sinking boat and point it home ``we've still got T I M E Crucius Venneford Crucius sighed quietly, his father had forced him to go shopping with his younger sister, Andromeda. He was unsure of as to why he had to accompany her, she was fifteen, perfectly capable of going into a shop by herself. This place was just so embarrassing for him to be in. Full of all sorts of girl-things. High-heeled shoes, short denim skirts, tank-tops. Urgh, was that a display of bras? There were posters of all the teen-aged celebrities that the girls were drooling over plastered over the walls. Crucius was convinced that Andromeda just dragged him in here to torture him.
She didn't dress like the rather slutty models in the posters, nor did she really wear any of the stuff they sold here. Crucius leaned against a wall as Andromeda flipped through a sale rack. He folded his arms and sighed quietly. Why, exactly, of all places did she have to bring him here? How long can a girl look through the same rack? Crucius thought impatiently. The bell over the door rang, and Crucius looked over at... --------------------------------------- Word count: 186 Clothes: Shirt, Jeans, Shoes. Location: Girly shop in Port Angeles

It was the time Nessie and Lizzy had showed up. Humans, even if they were only half, were a hassle in her opinion when it came to shopping. They were so slow and always seemed to have to be dragged along. Now it wasn't that she doesn't like the company of her cousin, it was just how she felt. That left Emily, with her straightened hair, jean shorts, and tank top on to walk the streets alone. At random times she would run if she thought no one was looking. She hated going that slow! She knew it was normal speed for them but still! A store caught her attention with a nicely dressed mannequin in the window. Emily walked into the store that she never even really noticed before. Her eyes scanned the place quickly and not long after she was filling through a rack next to a few younger looking kids. I want that jacket from the window. Was all she could think.

Take this sinking boat and point it home ``we've still got T I M E Crucius Venneford Crucius unfolded his arms, and then stuck his hands back into his pockets. His eyes darted over to Andromeda, still flicking casually through the rack. But what could he do to make her go faster? He wasn't a wizard or anything, Crucius sighed lightly again. His blue-grey eyes (that looked a bit more blue than today than usual for whatever reason) fell upon the girl that had just entered. Crucius never considered himself gifted with guessing ages, but if he had to guess, he would say around his own age.
However old she was, she was the classical definition of beautiful. Feminine facial structure, good complexion, blonde hair. Not exactly Crucius's type, he usually found that those kind of girls were annoying and unnecessarily cruel. He decided that he would remain quiet against the wall of the shop. If the girl decided to approach, that would be fine with him, but he certainly was not going to go up to her. It was intimidating to Crucius to talk to new people. What was taking Andromeda so long? ---------------------------------------

After she finished the rack of the jacket she was after, Emily's arms fell to her side and her eyes that were as gold as they could be scanned the store for someone who worked there. At a nearby rack of cloths Emily found a teenage girl folding cloths and looking as bored as could be. "Excuse me? Do you have that white jacket over there in a medium?" Emily refrained from tapping the other girls shoulder in fear that she would notice the abnormally cold body temperature. The worker girl nodded and said that she would go check. "Wait here." She said and walked off. Where Emily was stand, a blonde haired guy was standing close by. Emily walked step or two closer to him and stared off where he was. "Are you here with your sister or something?" She asked. Normally that sort of question would be taken offensively, and she didn't mean it offensively. Just bored and curious. Maybe it's be nice to make a friend too.. maybe. Her voice sounded genuinely sweet though, she didn't try, it was just the way she was.

Take this sinking boat and point it home ``we've still got T I M E Crucius Venneford Crucius absently watched the girl as she asked one of the employees where she might find a jacket in her size. There was something different about her, she was almost... Inhumanly beautiful. He decided that he would write a story about a girl who looked like her. It would probably go in the stack of "unfinished and probably never will be finished" notebooks that he had laying around. But Crucius liked having a good stack of them, just in case he ran out of muse on what he was working on.
Oh god, she was approaching him. What was Crucius supposed to say to someone so pretty? He'd probably stutter, sentences loaded with plenty of "um"s, just like always. Perhaps Andromeda was right, he really didn't get out often enough. "Um, yeah," said Crucius in response to her question, he tilted his head in Andromeda's direction. "She's, uh, over there." He wanted to say something, like one of the many smooth characters had had wrote about before... Reality was a lot harder than fiction. ---------------------------------------

So this was somewhat awkward. Not something that Emily was used to, but the feeling made her feel more human as this short conversation went on. "Aw, you guys look alike!" Emily's tone stayed soft and she looked over at the little girl. Em still refrained from to much eye contact because that would be... somewhat odd. "Do you live around here? I don't think I've ever seen you before." And I would know if I saw you before. She added to herself mentally. "Oh sorry. I'm Emily by the way."

Take this sinking boat and point it home ``we've still got T I M E Crucius Venneford The girl seemed to have a lot to say and acted as though there might not be enough time to say it all. Crucius had opened his mouth to reply to her comment about how he and Andromeda (she insisted that everyone call her Andy, " 'Andromeda' sounds like I'm ninety, not fifteen." she had told him) looked similar. Yes, it was possible to tell they were related, but only if you had sharp observational skills. Perhaps this girl, like himself, had an eye for details.
"Oh, um, I'm Crucius," he said, eyes flicking quickly to Andromeda, and then back to the strangely, impossibly beautiful, girl that had just introduced herself as Emily. He stuck his hands further into his pockets, just a general sign that he was nervous. Crucius usually was in social situations, being too frightened of looking stupid to come up with anything to convey his deep thinking. "Uh, yeah, I live in Forks, we, um, just moved here, uh, last week." Crucius explained. ---------------------------------------
